Skin aging is influenced by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Intrinsic aging is the natural, genetic process that occurs over time. Tretinoin is one of the most well-studied topical ingredients for photoaging. It works by increasing skin cell turnover, stimulating collagen production over time, and improving the organization of skin cells. With consistent use, tretinoin can help soften fine lines, improve skin texture, and even out skin tone.

Mineral sunscreens are often better tolerated by sensitive or acne-prone skin and are especially helpful when using anti-aging treatments such as retinoids, which can increase sun sensitivity. Daily, consistent application is essential for protecting the skin and preserving treatment results.

Often, yes. Teledermatology works well for anti-aging treatment because plans can be based on skin concerns, history, and photos. In-person evaluation may be recommended if there are concerning lesions, rapidly changing pigmentation, or other findings that require closer examination.
