STOP THE FLARES. STOP THE SPREAD.
Daily dosing may reduce the number of outbreaks by 70%–80% and decreases the risk of viral transmission to an uninfected partner by about 50%.
Herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus types 1 & 2.
The virus usually affects the lips (cold sores) and genital region - although skin in any area may be affected.
The Cause
Infection by the herpes virus is acquired through contact with contaminated saliva or body fluids during periods of viral shedding. The virus lives in your spine and clinical reactivation (outbreaks) occur periodically. Triggers for reactivation can include trauma, UV exposure, fever, immunosuppression, or stress. Usually you can feel an outbreak coming on by tingling, stinging, pain, or irritation of the area affected.
