Rosacea is an inflammatory process of the skin characterized by redness and acne-like lesions on the nose, cheeks, brow, and chin.
The Cause
The cause of rosacea is poorly understood. Vascular changes, inappropriate activation of the immune system, UV radiation, microbial exposure, and disruption of the skin barrier have all been implicated as playing a role in the pathogenesis of this condition.
